A Vision for the Braddock District

Ken Balbuena is a common sense community leader who is committed to addressing local issues by actually listening to the community. Your priorities are Ken's priorities.
It's People Before Politics.
This was the same approach he took in many of his community roles: Civic association president, PTA president, chair of the FCPS Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee, and others. Ken demonstrates proactive leadership by working across party lines to drive meaningful change.
From Braddock Road to Lake Accotink and beyond, together let us shape the future of the Braddock District and Fairfax County.
Who is Ken is and what was his campaign platform?
Ken has called Fairfax County home for more than 20 years. He and his wife have two children attending Fairfax County Public Schools in the Annandale High School pyramid. Ken has served in a variety of community roles, including receiving political appointments to County boards, authorities, and commissions by both Republican and Democratic elected officials. When running for Braddock District Supervisor in 2025, he sought to bring balance to the Board of Supervisors and continues to be a voice in the community.
Ken's campaign slogan, People Before Politics, was not just a saying. It's a promise that he continues to live out as a community leader. Serving the needs of Braddock District residents is his highest priority and why he would still like to one day be elected to the Board of Supervisors. Ken's top priorities during his campaign were based on in-depth community input and listening to hours of public hearings:
Address the commercial vacancy rate to reduce the burden on residential taxpayers.
Advance key Braddock District projects such as preserving Lake Accotink and fixing Braddock Road.
Promote safe and inclusive neighborhoods through increased funding for first responders, community organizations, and nonprofits while supporting the military and our Federal workforce.
Improve fiscal responsibility through more continuous collaboration with the School Board beyond the budget development process and greater advocacy for state funding.
Restore confidence and trust in the Board of Supervisors to reassure those we represent that their voices are heard.
