John C. Cook

Former Braddock District Supervisor

The job of district supervisor is first and foremost one of serving the community.  I know of no one better in the Braddock District to fill that role than Ken Balbuena.  Ken started his service, as did I, with his civic association. He knows the importance of on-the-ground issues like neighborhood speeding, financing local pools, and crime prevention. He understands the balance needed between funding schools and necessary services, and setting the property tax rate at a manageable level.  His service on Visit Fairfax and other committees gave him a critical appreciation for the critical need for economic development, which funds our economy and government.  Ken is a family man who knows the needs of our families.  He is the right person for the job and has my wholehearted support and endorsement.

Pat Herrity

Current Springfield District Supervisor

Ken Balbuena would be an outstanding addition to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors as the next Braddock District Supervisor. He has a demonstrated passion for and a proven track record of serving the residents of Braddock District and giving back to his community. Ken has been appointed to and served on multiple county boards and commissions in addition to being elected and served in leadership positions at his church, in the sports community and as President of North Springfield HOA. His commonsense approach to solving problems is just the kind of balance this Board needs during a time of out-of-control spending and misplaced priorities. I urge all Braddock District residents to take a close look at what Ken has to offer. I
wholeheartedly endorse Ken Balbuena for Braddock District Supervisor.

Former Catholic School Superintendent

Former Education Nonprofit Executive Director

When residents of Fairfax County migrate to the voting booths, they will have the opportunity to witness at least one candidate who will ensure his campaign is both professional and civil. Ken Balbuena, who is running to be our next Braddock District Supervisor, epitomizes the characteristics of a public servant that are desperately needed today.

I have known Ken for nearly 20 years. Our relationship started with my decision to hire him as my executive administrator while I served as a school superintendent. His role in that capacity, coupled with his subsequent professional and civic experiences, has repeatedly demonstrated that Ken checks all the boxes for what it means to be a trusted, reliable public official. His campaign platform, People Before Politics, perfectly captures his priorities while serving the Braddock District. For me, a citizen who is seeking a talented, honest, people-oriented candidate for public office, Ken Balbuena is my choice.

Dan Dusseau

Former College Chief of Police

It is my honor to endorse Ken Balbuena for public office. As a retired Chief of Police with over three decades of service, I have worked alongside many public servants—but few demonstrate the level of integrity, commitment, and approachability that Ken consistently displays. He is a hardworking, honest, and principled leader who genuinely listens to the people he serves and stands firm in his convictions. Ken is a man of the people—always accessible, always sincere, and deeply supportive of public safety and those who wear the badge.

Ken Balbuena understands that effective leadership means being present, building trust, and making decisions rooted in both character and community values. I have every confidence in his ability to serve with distinction and urge others to support his candidacy. He will make an outstanding representative for the people.

Tom Davis

Former Congressman (VA-11)

Ken Balbuena is someone that has selflessly given back to Fairfax County and the community where he and his wife are raising their family. He has been appointed by elected officials from both parties to multiple committees that serve our residents, is actively involved in his church, and has given his time to volunteer for youth sports. In addition, Ken has taken his common-sense approach to tackle complex issues (such as saving Lake Accotink) while serving on the FCPS Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee. He knows how to work across party lines for solutions that benefit the larger community, and his bipartisan leadership is what Fairfax County needs in such a polarized environment.

As a former Mason District Supervisor, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and Member of Congress, I know what it takes to represent the residents of Fairfax County, and Ken Balbuena is that person.  I am certain that his constituent-driven, proactive approach will serve the Fairfax County and Braddock District residents well, and I’m confident in my endorsement of Ken.

Jeanette Hough

Former FCPS School Board Member

Ken is a family man with integrity and a community leader that I have known for 10 years. I have always been impressed with how well he relates to the community and how much he cares. Whether it’s an issue about County code or school crossing guards or advocacy about a hot topic, I know Ken is engaging his community, listening to their needs and coming up with creative solutions to enhance the quality of the neighborhood.

Although his oldest child was only in kindergarten when I was on the FCPS School Board, Ken reached out to me numerous occasions to weigh in on board matters and share what he was hearing around the community.

Bottom line: Ken cares.

Ken is your neighbor, looking out for your best interests – just like neighbors do. I know he will represent you well, and I am pleased to offer my endorsement as he looks to make the Braddock District Supervisor an even stronger place for all residents!
