Balbuena for Braddock Campaign Announces Its Kickoff and Fundraising Event
Community Leader Ken Balbuena will be holding his official campaign kickoff event on Saturday, August 15, 2025 at Kilroy’s in Springfield, VA. Balbuena announced his candidacy for Braddock District Supervisor on July 29, 2025 in anticipation of a possible vacancy on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors following the 11th Congressional District special election on September 9, 2025. The event will be hosted by former Braddock District Supervisor John C. Cook, who was among the first community and political leaders to endorse Balbuena. Residents from across the Braddock District and beyond as well as the media are invited to meet Balbuena, hear his vision for Fairfax County, and learn how to get involved in his “People Before Politics” campaign.
Balbuena has served in a variety of community roles, including civic association president, PTA president, chair of the Fairfax County Public Schools’ Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee, board member of Visit Fairfax (the County’s official travel and tourism board), member of the Future of Lake Accotink Task Force, and member of the Fairfax County Consolidated Community Funding Pool Selection Advisory Committee. Several of his community service positions have been through political appointments from both Republican and Democratic elected officials. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and served as a youth sports coach.
